OpenSesame Consulting begins to take shape (next meeting, Monday, 6pm)

The gathering this past Monday on developing OpenSesame Consulting (an professional/training collaborative consultancy focusing on open source tools, collaboration tools, and social media) was fantastic... :-) About 15 people... great diversity in skills and interest... and overall, an amazing amount of brains and brainpower combined with social concern. From what I saw, I was pretty damn excited.

The "techie" group decided to narrow down and focus on 6 core tools/fields now: two CMSs (Drupal and Wordpress), project management (current discussions going on about the best one/s to use), phone/PBX systems, Linux, and hardware (hardware hacking?).

I'd like to add to that basic desktop consumer programs such as OpenOffice and Audacity (no programming needed, just getting people familiar with the idea of open source).

A separate "business development group" started working on figuring out the business details... more info on that coming soon.
