Sentiments of frustration have risen amongst the voters in Tarik Jdideh. Citizens are waiting in hour-long lines for a process intended to last no longer than ten minutes. The slow voting procedure is said to be resulting as a cause of police intervention, who refuse to have more than one citizen in a three-person booth simultaneously. The main reason for their interference is to control the fear of fight outbreaks amongst political and religious sects. A skirmish has already resulted in the poll station on Tarik Jdideh, for a reason unrelated to the political tension. The scuffle arose due to frustration between a voter and a poll station supervisor due to the extreme slowness of the process.
