Technology is a powerful tool for economic, social, and political development. However not all tech tools are created equal, and not all tech tools have the same impact on the development we care about. For those reasons, RootSpace focuses on training, promoting, supporting, and assisting other groups (non-profits, for-profit SMEs, educational and government institutions, and more) in:
• open source technologies (for web, desktop applications, collaboration, and more)
• collaboration and productivit tools
• Web 2.0 and social media tools

Our key efforts include the OpenSesame Initiative (training and support for open source development), and the organization and hosting of BarCamps.
